Production fruitière de Neocarya macrophylla (Sabine) Prance, espèce ligneuse alimentaire du Niger

RESUME
Objectif : L’objectif
du présent travail est d’estimer la production fruitière de Neocarya
macrophylla, une espèce ligneuse alimentaire du Niger.
Méthodologie et Résultat : La production fruitière de N. macrophylla a été appréciée à travers la récolte des fruits sur 30 arbres en 2 années consécutives. N. macrophylla présente 2 saisons de production fruitière par an. En saison sèche, la production fruitière de N. macrophylla de 2009 (390,96 kg/arbre) est significativement supérieure (P = 0,038) à celle de 2010 (306,76 kg/arbre). La production de la saison de pluies de 2009 (62,25 kg/arbre) et celle de 2010 (75,69 kg/arbre) n’ont pas été significativement différentes. La production moyenne annuelle de 2009 (453,21 kg/arbre) est significativement plus élevée que celle (P=0.029) de 2010 (382 kg/arbre). Le poids (84,80 g), la longueur (5,28 cm) et la largeur (4,68 cm) des fruits de N. macrophylla n’ont pas été significativement différents selon les années et les saisons de production.
Conclusion et Applications : La production fruitière moyenne de N. macrophylla présente une variabilité interannuelle. Les résultats de cette étude donnent une indication pour la sélection ‘‘d’arbres-plus’’ à des fins d’amélioration génétique.

ABSTRACT

Methodology and Results: The fruit production of N. macrophylla was assessed through fruit harvest from 30 trees in 2 consecutive years. N. macrophylla has 2 seasons of fruit production per year. In the dry season fruit production of N. macrophyllain2009 (390.96 kg / tree) was significantly higher(P = 0,038) than in2010 (306.76 kg / tree). The fruit production in the rainy season of 2009 (62.25 kg / tree) and that of 2010 (75.69 kg / tree) were not significantly different (P = 0.029). The average production per year in2009 (453.21 kg / tree) was significantly higher than in 2010 (382 kg / tree). The weight (84.80 g), the length (5.28 cm) and the width (4.68 cm) from the fruits of N. macrophylla were not significantly different between years and seasons of production.
Conclusion and Application: Average production of N. macrophylla presents an interannual variability. The results from this study give an indication for selecting the best tree for breeding programme.
