Objective: The present study aims to determine the levels of fine particles from the Isothermal Remanent magnetization (SIRM) leaves of tropical plants in the District of Abidjan.
Methodology and Results: Samples of plant leaves Amaranthus spinosus, Panicum maximum, Ficus benjamina and Terminalia catappa were collected from different types of land use that are: roads; industrial areas; residential areas and parks and gardens. The highest values of SIRM (22.33 x10-5A and 7, 36 x10-5A) were recorded with the leaves of Amaranthus spinosus respectively in industrial areas and at road axes. On the contrary, in residential areas and parks and gardens, SIRM leaves are very low with values ranging between 2.62 and 0.33 x10-5A x10-5A during different seasons. The results also revealed an increasing gradient of SIRM leaves as we approach roads and a decreasing gradient with height sampling. In addition, the accumulation of fine particles is low for a rainy months compared to a dry month.
Conclusion: The results of this study helped to arrange the types of land use studied in two categories depending on the quality of the air. And industrial areas and surrounding the main roads are areas of poor habitat for most polluted as residential areas and parks and gardens are areas of good quality habitat. Also, this study revealed that the main sources of environmental pollution in urban areas are firstly emissions from vehicle exhaust and other smokestacks. In sum, the SIRM of plant leaves can be used as a bio-indicator of air quality in an urban environment in the tropics.

Abstract:
Objective: The aim of this study WAS determined to particulate matter concentration from the Saturation Isothermal Remanent Magnetization (SIRM) of tropical leaves in the district of Abidjan.
Methodology and Results: Leaves of Amaranthus spinosus sampling, Panicum maximum, Ficus benjamina and Terminalia catappa Were taken from different land use types ie: roads, Industrial Areas, Areas and residential parks and gardens. The Highest leaf SIRM (22.33 and 7.36 x10-5A x10-5A) Were Recorded with Amaranthus spinosus respectively in Industrial Areas and at roads. Instead, in residential Areas and parks and gardens, leaf SIRM varies betweens x10-5A 2.62 and 0.33 x10-5A Pendant different seasons. Leaf SIRM Showed year Increasing gradient with distance to the roads and Declining gradient with sampling height. Furthermore, the accumulation of fine particles is low for a rainy months Compared to dry months.
Conclusion: This study HAS allowed to classify the land use type in to two categories According To air quality. Industrial Areas and Areas roads are poor air quality habitat goal residential Areas and parks and gardens Areas are good air quality habitat. Also, this study Revealed That The main sources of environmental pollution in Urban Areas are emission from vehicles and industries motors chimneys. This study HAS Showed That leaf SIRM of tropical plants leaves Farming Can Be as bioindicators of air quality in urban environments in the tropics.
