All types of livestock have to be converted into various types of products before they can be consumed or utilised for industrial purposes. Some major livestock products include milk, meat, skin, hair, bones and manure. Each of these different products require different and sometimes highly specialised processing and handling procedures and equipments. Proper processing and packaging is especially important where products have to be marketed in distant markets, sometimes exported to countries that have very stringent quality standards. This page will provide information resources on the various procedures, equipment, standards etc that are necessary to enable a profitable livestock industry in Africa and other developing countries. All are encouraged to contribute materials for publication. Contact Email: info@elewa.org or sarah@elewa.org
